Hunters Excuse - "Conservation"

How to refute with a hunter Part 1 "Conservation"

   1. Hunters idea of "conservation" is to ensure enough "game" animal for future generations of killing for sports and trophy from birds to big "game" animals with the use of food plots,

http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&sugexp=ldymls&xhr=t&q=food+plot+deer&cp=12&qe=Zm9vZCBwbG90IGRlZQ&qesig=QxRT8YKFPpMobzh8Vu41Pg&pkc=AFgZ2tkUZ4tuVgF-RA-5G8J5MzAA7R00pu40N8LMXYvRGM9oY9PdfE560hgzjqqbVk0DHXg0NKj4AQq_vOHvJ20ybEqDi7kIug&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&biw=1680&bih=750

manipulating deer habitat and of course using Compensatory Rebound Effect http://defendurbanwildlife.org/news/Compensatory%20Rebound%20Effect.pdf which the hunting industry knows very well about that is how they ensure enough deer to satisfy "sportsman" across America. . They tell the public money goes to land for "all" to enjoy but what they do not know is that same land that non killers are photographing nature will be the same land that will be used as a killing field for "sportsman" and the beautiful photograph of a buck deer, Elk, Moose etc will be killed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVSruqFgktY and probably won't see them again instead it will be on some hunters wall or in a photograph with a dead animal on the ground gray in the eyes, blood in the mouth posed with the hunter sitting or standing by with smiles on his face that he was able to "conquer" such magnificent creature.

Here is more about "Conservation" which is an important read.

The Myth of Trophy Hunting

Wildlife Watching:
An Economic Boon to Communities

http://all-creatures.org/cash/cc2007-fa-ww.html

Eco-tourism is what brings the money but the hunting industry rarely mentions that because the NRA and the pro-kill Government wants the public to continue believing it's the "sportsman" who brings money. Then they say how they "boost" the economy yet with such small percentage of killers in America I would believe that is a bit of an exaggeration. Imagine how much money can be made by eco-tourism, bird watching, nature photography where MAJORITY of the population will enjoy but many do not want to get involved because of hunting that does takes place. "Sportsman" or American are only 4% of the American population but the reason they continue to "win" is the support of power and money (guns and political people who too have interest in hunting) which they get money from all the hunting propaganda. They do love their euphemism such as "conservation", "wildlife management", "love and respect nature". Psychopaths too were good with being the "nice" people but behind the facade lies a soulless monster.

Also how is "conservation" of land doing the non-killing public any good if we can' even feel safe in the woods during the fall. There is no peace in there just death and destruction as millions of hunters heads out into the forest blasting their guns, crossbows and bows and arrows to KILL.

Overall "Conservation" is just a euphemism , another name for propagating "game" animals for "sportsman" to kill not only for today but for the future. There is nothing "beautiful" about terror, pain, suffering, bloodshed and death to the innocent because that is what hunters love to show on their videos and websites about "conservation". I wonder what it would look like if they showed what really happens to the animals they "conserve" . One last thing I forgot to mention many popular "wildlife group" hooking up with the hunters (easy money , quick fix and brainwashed to think if you kill some you will have plenty of animals for "all" to enjoy which we know is a farce). Organization such as Nature Conservancy, National Wildlife Federation, World Wildlife Fund, Sierra Club, and of course Audubon.

Hunters Excuses "If we don't kill them they'll starve to death"

How to refute hunters BS. The "if we don't kill them they'll starve to death"

If I had a dime for every "they'll starve to death" I be a billionair.  First of all I don't see any DNR selling tags to kill the "starving and sickly deer" do you?  Every hunters wants the healthy with the big rack to compensate for their shortcomings so there is no "starving deer" in any hunting photos I have seen yet. Plus how do they know which deer will "starve to death" when they shoot them and also who is killing the deer's natual predators such as coyotes and wolves? That's right the hunters, the more killing done to "varmints"  the better because they will reduce the deer numbers *naturally* which the hunters do not want.  Coyotes and wolves goes  after the sickly to keep the strong yes they go after babies too and it's sad but that is part ot the nature way to keep healthy eco- balance not bunch of "sportsman" killing animals for shere pleasure even the babies, yearlings, pregnant does and of course the beautiful buck.

As millions of hunters heads into the woods the deer become very stressed  which causes them to be unable to eat, the hunters causes the animal family to separate which  means the yearling will lose the warmth of their mother or the matriarchs if the yearling lost their mother from hunters.  Hunters especially bowhunters leave thousands wounded and crippled unable to eat  now talk about "starvation" and also dying from pain and suffering.  In Wisconsin 08 Season 68,000 wounded deer were not recovered by hunters according to their Game Commission.  It was not only on this article from Associated Press but on another one but lets say the number *maybe* was miscalculated and it is actually 6,000 or even 600, or 60 that is still way too many deer suffered for hunters sick pleasure.

(Read last line)

In America they do love their food plots and with all the food plots and hunters propagating deer for hunting pleasure via Compensatory Rebound Effect (CRE) http://mathew5-7.blogspot.com/2009/08/this-is-why-we-have-too-many-deer.html  there will always be abundance of deer and many deer will run from terrors of hunting to seek refuge and that is why you will find deer in area that has no hunting then they blame because there was no hunting blahblahblah.  Deer numbers are here because of hunters that is the most important thing people must remember, hunters kills off the healthiest of the deer /elk, hunters stresses the deer, hunters leaves thousands wounded and crippled to die after days unable to eat.

Watch this video I did a while back ago.

Deer Hunting Increases the Rate Of Deer Starvation

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvNhCVdSjiE&playnext=1&list=PL2AE16C1869A6EBAC

Lastly starvation  is a natural part of life and death in the wild just as diseases and death are for humans.   I also  forgot to mention that the body size of whitetails has gotten smaller because of hunting (not the rack obviously they work hard to make sure rack will be huge) and also certain species of bear body size has gotten smaller "thanks" to hunters. Twice I saw a video where the hunter shot a buck because the antler was not right (bad genes) not because of sickly or thin and even Killed the older buck because they feel they are no more use for mating. Yeah that is how much they "care" for the starving.!

Only Soulless humans can kill with a bow and arrow Part 3 Compilation

Psychopaths
"....was, until 1980, the term used for a personality disorder characterized by an abnormal lack of empathy combined with strongly amoral conduct but masked by an ability to appear outwardly normal...Psychopaths lack a sense of guilt or remorse for any harm they may have caused others, instead rationalizing the behavior, blaming someone else, or denying it outright, Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy and Dennis Rader, the infamous “BTK” (Bind, Torture, Kill) murderer—have manifested numerous psychopathic traits, including superficial charm and a profound absence of guilt and empathy."

Recreational hunters,  INTENTIONALLY go out there to kill for fun with no care in the world even with a stuffed fridge and belly. There is absolutely NO limit to the amount of cruelty that hunters can inflict upon the innocent sentient beings , they can spine shoot them for the video (got lots of that), they can shoot the animals in anyway they want because in American cruelty to forest animals is considered "sports", an "outdoorsman" or "conservation" ( all that euphemistic garbage). Now that part is cleared lets get to excuse #2. "Have you see what those wolves do to the animals rip them to shred alive" etc etc. Yes I have and horrible to watch but that is part of life and death in the wild, some animal will succumb quickly to the predators kill some may take longer but their killing is out of hunger and their prey are the weaker, the starving, the smaller to keep the strong healthy genes where the "sportsman" do the opposite. Now let me tell you what happens to the animals when sports hunters (bowhunters especially) leave the animals to die sometimes for hours and even overnight, you always hear the hunters says "I hope the coyote or wolves did not get to them" meaning the animals could not even defend themselves in their wound dying they were eaten alive by the carnivores of the wild and all because of sick humans who wants to kill for sports and trophy. The does and yearlings they wont bother to search if they know it would be too hard to find but the big antlered "trophy" deer yes they will go all out, even half eaten they will bring home the deer for the sake of the antler. Pitiful isn't it? In this video you will see many talk about the "wait" which means the recommended waiting time for the animal to die from bowhunting usually minimum of 30-45 minutes. Bowhunters tries to deny this to the public but I watch, I listen carefully to EVERY WORDS that bowhunters says and don't miss a thing. Is there any remorse or guilt from them? ABSOLUTELY NONE! Instead it's the high fives and fist pumping as they speak in whisper not to spook the stil alive but suffering deer any further. Imagine a human capable of cheering as the animal is dying, an animal with the same physiology of humans is dying some drowning in their own blood, hemorrhaging  to death or what ever horrific suffering that comes from a bow and arrow whether it's compound or crossbow all death to an animal by an arrow is never "quick" and it's the kind of death not one of these killers would ever want to experience.
Now lets talk about the fawns, yes they kill fawns with spots but in the hunting industry they want to make sure you get the female not the male for they need the male for future trophy deer. (click here) Plus they want to save enough food for the does to have more babies and the growing fawn buck for future killing (they call it fawn recruits). Yearlings too, yearlings are very close to their siblings but in the bowhunting public ( I especially witness the killings of babies by bowhunters) they will injure or kill the button buck but mostly the female yearling because I see other hunters comments of anger not because of the yearling killing but because of the "taking out" of "future trophy deer". When one of the sibling is injured or killed the other will follow as if grieving. About does (female deer) Bowhunters have no qualms about killing does with babies http://mathew5-7.blogspot.com/2010/10/this-doe-right-here-came-looking-for.html  and does are very protective of them too and still the high fives and the whisper of "yahoos" for the camera. Today's hunting I like the public to know is NOT about survival and food, some may eat the "backstrap" (what a joke) I had seen it and it's so laughable and the rest are either dumped to the pantries or the forest ground. The killers (sports hunters) not for a moment think that that the unsavory part of the deer carcass is where CWD is and they continue to poison the pantries.(click here) as the Government lies on the serious danger of CWD (Prions) is to humans. We do have many vegetarian "feed the hungry" but the Government who gets loads of money from the NRA never speak of people like "Food Not Bombs" click here

because they are about feeding the poor vegetarian food with love and compassion and to stop the war. Their message is to use the money to feed the poor rather then to kill people in the war. I am getting off subject but that is part of the reason why so many deer tags are able to be sold because there is the pantries to "give" to not caring whether there is possiblity of all kinds of wildlife diseases such as bovine TB, parasites, worms (several types) and the most dangerous of all Prions from CWD which is now in 13 states and 2 Canadian Provinces. The deer numbers are here because of hunting and the number continue to rise so does the deer vehicle accidents. The hunting industry knows about Compensatory Rebound Effect (CRE) meaning that the surviving deer will have more food and food is what cause more fawn births (twins and triplets) where if there is not enough food the womb will "eat up" the embryo or fail to ovulate. It's all part of the natural eco-balance that the hunting industry destroys. Then of course we all know they kill off deer's natural predators such as the coyotes which they call "varmints". The hunting industry despise any animals that will naturally reduce the numbers and may even eat that trophy deer they been eyeing to get for couple of years like serial killers do with certain victims. click here

Why are there so many wounded and crippled deer ? Why are there always bad shots where it takes deer , elk and other large hunted animals to die a slow excruciatingly painful death even if the bowhunters think they are "Robin hood" when practicing on a non moving object?

Jumping the String

"Animals have an extraordinary ability to dodge arrows. This attribute wasn’t understood until the behavior of white-tailed deer was captured on videotape and studied carefully. Deer can take flight with uncanny speed at the slightest hint of danger, particularly unnatural sound, including the sound of a bow twanging. This phenomenon is called “jumping the string.”

"A deer may appear broadside when it is actually quartering slightly toward, or away. And that angle could mean the difference between a double-lung or single-lung, lethal or non-lethal hit. If I had a dollar for every deer I recovered that I mistakenly thought was broadside when I shot, I could buy a dozen good arrows."

Disposition
A deer's behavior may influence when, or even if, you should shoot. Precise numbers don't exist, but we know that a whitetail's reflexes are extremely quick. Sound travels at 1,125.79 feet per second (fps). Meanwhile, even the fastest compound bows spew arrows at less than half that rate. This leaves a deer ample time to react, particularly if it's alert, which is often the case when rattling, calling aggressively or when the deer catches sight or scent of you. It's a judgment call you often have to make instantaneously, but a better option may be to wait until the deer relaxes, or pass up the shot, particularly if it's a longer shot. Alert deer reduce your maximum effective range. The farther away a deer is, the more time it has to react. A well-aimed arrow could be far enough off the mark to result in a clean miss, or worse.
A deer's reflexes can sometimes be so fast even a well-placed hit can result in some weird and unexpected results. I've seen arrows enter a deer dead on the mark and exit at angles that defy the laws of physics. Sometimes it's the result of deflection off bone.
Other times, it's purely reaction speed."

Why are there always bad shots where it takes deer , elk and other large hunted animals to die a slow excruciatingly painful death even if the bowhunters think they are "Robin hood" when practicing on a non moving object? Here are few of the reasons besides the fact that man are not meant to kill. "Men" who thinks they are part of "predator and prey" is a joke !!

The difficulty in shooting arrows accurately offers a partial explanation for the high woundingand crippling loss. Unlike bullets, which fly in a more like linear path, arrows loop. As Benkesays: they rainbow. Whereas a gun hunter takes dead aim at an animal, an archer mustestimate the distance from the target and adjust the shot to compensate for the rainbow trajectory of the arrow.

Considering that bowhunters often shoot from tree stands or position themselves on slopedterrains, they become anxious when an animal is finally within range. This is known amongbowhunters as “buck fever.”

This beautiful buck deer was left to suffer and die overnight, body ended up half eaten by coyote most likely buck was still alive when he was attacked  but "thank God" for the bowhunter the rack was still intact and he made sure to find that deer.

A Veterinarian's Perspective on Bowhunting

What Happens to the Animals?

Bowhunters contend that although crippling is undesirable, most wounded animals do not die agonizing deaths, but can quickly recover. They feel that the broadhead arrow inflicts clean wounds that heal quickly. Bowhunters also like to suggest that a broadhead arrow is an efficient killing tool, with brand names such as the Ripper, Penetrator, and Terminator Doublecut.

The pretense seems to be that somehow animals develop hemophilia the instant they are struck; thus, they bleed to death: Stop all body functions with incredible speed—within 30 seconds in most cases, according to The Complete Book of Bowhunting. Contrary to these claims, most crippled animals do not recover from their wounds; rather, they routinely contract peritonitis or a septic infection.

Broadheads do not inflictclean wounds; they generally inflict dirty wounds. The main cause of infection, according to Benke, is today’s multi-bladed broadhead. As these arrows penetrate an
animal’s body, numerous hairs are clipped, often caught in the slots of the arrow blades, and distributed throughout the wound channel. The external wound opening then becomes sealed due to clotting and dried blood-matted hair. The bacteria from the clipped hairs begin multiplying in the wound. The amount of bacterial infection emanating from the wound depends on the wound location.

The animal’s general health is also an important factor affecting the time period it takes for the animal to finally die. Death eventually results one to two agonizing weeks later.

Photobucket

“The exciting Warhead starts with its
bone shattering Tri-Cut Tip … that
explodes flesh and bone away so the
three surgically sharp stainless blades
can open a larger, more lethal
entrance/exit hole.” (From
manufacturer’s catalog)

In order for an animal to bleed to death, its blood-clotting system must be overwhelmed. To overwhelm this system, the broadhead must penetrate the heart or sever one or more major blood vessels. If these are not lacerated, an animal cannot bleed to death— the body’s natural blood-clotting system sees to that.

Benke estimates that 20% to 30% of deer struck by arrows die from hemorrhaging and that 10% sustain wounds that probably heal, leaving 60% to 65% of the deer to die from infections.
Benke asserts: the average time in which broadheads cause death must be measured in weeks or days rather than in seconds, minutes, or even hours. Sadly, it is not only the crippled animals who suffer, but those hit and retrieved successfully as well. According to experts clean kills are a rarity. While the deer who are hit and retrieved successfully are not fortunate, they fare better than those who have been wounded and left to suffer. A comment from an experienced bowhunter who writes in Fins & Feathers magazine

(March 1987) assumes that the elapsed time between the initial wounding of an animal
and the animal’s final death is exceedingly long—even if the hit occurs in vital (heart or
lung) areas. The rule of thumb for bowhunters has long been that they should wait 30 to 45 minuteson heart and lung hits, an hour or more on a suspected liver hit, 8 to12 hours on paunch hits, and follow immediately on hindquarter and other muscle-only hits to keep the
wound open and bleeding. Bowhunting literature serves as its own indictment. The book Bowhunting for Whitetails says: It’s important to give them (the deer) time to stiffen and die - 20 minutes at a minimum, 30 minutes even better... just hang back and have a smoke. There is absolutely no sure way to kill a deer instantly with a bow!

The broadhead arrow is notorious for its inherent inefficiency and singular capacity to
cripple, wound, inflict pain, and prolong the suffering of animals. All 50 states have banned the .22 caliber rifle for big-game hunting because of its inadequate killing power. Given that .22 rifles are far superior to compound bows in terms of killing capability, one can infer that states have failed to institute and implement responsible and consistent hunting regulations.

A Veterinarian’s Perspective on Bowhunting

According to Steve Nusbaum MA, DVM, if the damage to the vital area is less than
severe, and if an arrow nicks an auricle rather than cuts through both ventricles, the
blessing of shock-induced analgesia (a deadening or absence of the sense of pain
without loss of consciousness) to set in can take a long time.

Consider the physiology of the deer who dies by suffocation, choking on its own blood,
or the deer who dies after an arrow penetrates the diaphragm. The presence of a highly
sophisticated nervous system in deer certainly suggests that their nervous systems
perform the same functions as human nervous systems. The presence of the same
neurochemicals in deer as in humans similarly shows that they feel pain as we do.

In recent years there has been a major shift in the way the scientific community
understands the mental life of animals, particularly mammals. Presently, researchers in
a variety of animal-related disciplines generally agree that in addition to being sentient,
mammals are consciously aware and have feelings and emotions; even though they are
more rudimentary than those of humans.

Mammals, including deer, are presently understood by scientists to have the capacity to
think. Numerous studies indicate that the mental harm that is done to an animal placed
in a stressful situation may be more injurious than that done to a person in a similar
situation because the animal’s mind, in varying degrees, focuses more on the immediate
than the distant. Thus, an animal, unlike a person, is less aware that the present anxiety
it is experiencing may be temporary. Not only does bowhunting cause real physical pain and suffering, the deer’s mental suffering is just as real, and in its own way, may be just as painful.

Bowhunting as a Deer Management Tool

The use of bowhunting as a method to control deer population densities is ineffective:
*In a February 1988 report on bowhunting at Rock Cut State Park in Illinois,
Department of Conservation biologist Tom Beissel, states: …this report recognizes that bowhunting has never been an effective tool for deer control…
* In Texas, which has more deer than any other state, Parks and Wildlife biologist
Horace Gore comments: You cannot call bowhunting a population control
measure, it is a recreational pursuit. In fact, he adds: We do not advocate
bowhunting when the objective is controlling the population.
* According to John Parker, Area Wildlife Manager for the Minnesota Department
of Natural Resources, only 3 deer were killed from the 29 bow permits issued in
the 1989 bow hunt in the Minnesota River Valley Area.
* Larry Gillette, Wildlife Biologist for Hennepin Parks, acknowledges that
bowhunters fail to retrieve a substantial number of deer they shoot and does not
advise the use of archery hunting to control deer populations.
* The Eagan City Council decided in 1993 not to allow bowhunting. This was
largely due to FATE’s (Friends of Animals and Their Environment) efforts. An
article in Bowhunter’s Hotline (Sept. 1993) regarding Eagan’s decision reported
that the Mayor of Eagan had supported bowhunting in the past; however, his
mind was changed about the sport due to the information provided by FATE.
The Mayor of Eagan, Tom Egan was quoted in the article as saying: FATE
provided me with a lot of valuable information, and I have always supported
bowhunting, but I no longer feel the rationale that it’s an efficient management
tool outweighs the safety and cruelty aspects. Also, the Mayor was reported as
saying: I think if we set loose every bowhunter in Eagan, we still wouldn’t reduce
the deer population, and the city would be less safe. He added: It isn’t feasible
for every bowhunter to shoot and retrieve five deer. They might each shoot and
wound five, but not shoot and recover five.

The above listed items clearly show the inefficiencies and ineffectiveness of bowhunting
as a population control method and deer management tool.

The Inescapable Conclusion

Those who indulge in the antiquated bow-and-arrow type of hunting knowingly commit
each living creature they hit to lingering agony, and this is true whether the wound is
eventually fatal or not. These animals endure prolong suffering before they collapse and
die.

As this report has shown, the following facts about bowhunting are inescapable:
* Bowhunting is inhumane and wasteful.
* Bowhunters do not want to talk about the wounding issue and archery wounding
is the most denied problem in bowhunting.
* Wounding and crippling losses are inevitable.
*Shot placement is, for all practical purposes, random due to the difficulty in
shooting arrows accurately. There is absolutely no sure way to kill a deer
instantly with a bow
* More often than not, poorly hit deer are lost and not recovered.
* The main cause of infection in the wound is today’s multi-bladed broadhead
arrow
* Almost all abdominally shot deer die a slow death from peritonitis with the
average time of death measured in agonizing days or weeks rather than in
minutes or hours.
* The use of bowhunting as a method to control deer population densities is
ineffective. Bowhunting is not a population control measure; it is a recreational
pursuit.

Humans are provided with the capacity to imagine for a variety of reasons. And we have
the capacity to imagine empathetically for a singular reason—we can appreciate the pain
of others without experiencing it firsthand. Balancing the needs of humans and animals
is a difficult and complex task. If communities decide that deer herds must be managed,
it is reprehensible to reduce the taking of animal life to a recreational activity for
bowhunting enthusiasts. Instead, a truly humane solution must be found—whether that
solution is to hire professional sharpshooters to observe the herd, taking the old and
infirm, or to implement an immunocontraception program for the herd.
